Understand negative balance line exports

Negative balance lines represent credits (or deductions) attached to a bill.

What changes in exports

  • Negative balance lines are exported as regular line rows with a negative signed unit/total value.
  • Sales summary still includes all bill lines in TotalNoTax and TotalTax.
  • Export summary now also includes a dedicated negative-balance breakdown:
    • NegativeBalanceTotalNoTax
    • NegativeBalanceTotalTax

Why values can be negative

  • Credits reduce bill totals.
  • Tax values for credit lines are also negative to preserve accounting consistency.

Validation rules

  • A negative balance line must use a positive quantity and a negative signed line amount.
  • Standard sale lines must keep non-negative signed amounts.
