Understand negative balance line exports
Negative balance lines represent credits (or deductions) attached to a bill.
What changes in exports
- Negative balance lines are exported as regular line rows with a negative signed unit/total value.
- Sales summary still includes all bill lines in
TotalNoTaxandTotalTax. - Export summary now also includes a dedicated negative-balance breakdown:
NegativeBalanceTotalNoTaxNegativeBalanceTotalTax
Why values can be negative
- Credits reduce bill totals.
- Tax values for credit lines are also negative to preserve accounting consistency.
Validation rules
- A negative balance line must use a positive quantity and a negative signed line amount.
- Standard sale lines must keep non-negative signed amounts.
